    Pass Plus Course

    what is pass plus?

    Pass Plus is a condensed driving course, spanning six hours, aimed at enhancing the skills and safety of newly licenced drivers.

    This course can be taken at any point after you've completed your practical and theory driving tests. However, it's most beneficial during your first year of driving, as statistics show that most road accidents happen within the first 12 months of obtaining a licence.

    WHAT'S INCLUDED?

    The course is divided into six modules, each focusing on different aspects of everyday driving. These modules are:

    Pass Plus Course

    Curriculum

    Rural driving involves unique risks, such as blind corners, animals on the road, and slow-moving vehicles. This module teaches safe passing strategies and how to handle sharp bends, encounters with horse riders, cyclists, farm machinery, and road debris.

    Common Questions

    Pay as you go lessons are £40 an hour. Block bookings work out cheaper: £390 for 10 hours, which is £39 an hour, or £760 for 20 hours, which is £38 an hour.

    Yes. The 10 hour starter package saves you £10 against the pay as you go rate, and the 20 hour package saves you £40. You can still take 90 or 120 minute lessons within either block.

    There is no fixed number and anyone who quotes you one is guessing. The DVSA's own long-running figure is roughly 45 hours of professional lessons plus about 22 hours of private practice, but it varies a great deal with age, confidence and how often you can practise between lessons.

    No. The price you see is the price you pay, and the theory and practical test fees are paid to the DVSA rather than to us.

    Pass Plus is £200 for six hours. It covers town driving, all weather driving, rural roads, night driving, dual carriageways and motorways. There is no test at the end; your instructor assesses you as you go and you get a certificate on completion.

    Take it for the experience rather than for an insurance discount. Most insurers no longer offer one, and those that do apply conditions, so check with yours before booking. It is most worth doing if you have little experience of motorways, night driving or poor weather, which is exactly what the six hours cover.

    Yes. Lessons run from 8.30am to 10pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and to 10.30pm on a Thursday. Andy does not teach at weekends.
